How quickly time flies and our children step by step find their way into life – I witness this every day with my own three little ones. It’s amazing how fast they learn and absorb everything they encounter. And yet, in the midst of everyday life, I’m often so busy with the daily grind that there’s hardly any room left to pause in wonder – let alone to capture those beautiful moments.

That’s why I want to regularly create a space where you, as a family, can simply enjoy time together. A space where you’re fully present with one another for a few intentional moments, while I am there – both present and subtly in the background – capturing your family photos during the session.

As a photographer for portraits, couples, families, and life itself, I capture your emotions, your laughter, your thoughtful expressions, and those special moments that define and connect you as a family. The resulting family photos become cherished memories of a fleeting season that, in the rush of daily life, often seems to pass by unnoticed.

We’ll design your family session outdoors in nature, in and around Konstanz, by the shores of beautiful Lake Constance, in natural light – in a natural environment. From experience, this is where children (and parents, too) can best relax – in surroundings that ground you. There’s less material distraction, allowing relationships to come to the forefront – and it’s from that space that genuine emotions can emerge. Over time, a sense of connection grows, and I as the photographer gradually step into the background during your family shoot.

The light in nature is ever-changing and requires flexibility, experience, and a bit of luck – like during one session we nearly had to cancel due to a storm warning, only to be gifted with dramatic thunderclouds, a vibrant rainbow, and warm evening light (which, in my view, beautifully symbolizes family life).

During a family shoot, it’s all about balancing safety and freedom in the moment. That means I’ll occasionally give gentle impulses or ideas, place you in the best light, and pay attention to the background – while also guiding the psychodynamic tension (which is often the greatest challenge during shoots with small children). I intuitively sense what the children (and often the parents) need to relax. I recognize the moment when the potential for real, vibrant family photos begins to unfold – and I go along with it when the energy fades and the mood dips, without forcing anything.

With my sensitive, intuitive, and calm nature, along with decades of experience as a photographer in Konstanz, I bring the right qualities to help you unwind and to create or hold a space for the here and now.
