I didn’t become a photographer by chance.<\/p>\n

I made a conscious choice \u2013 because of the people and the joy that comes from connecting with them.<\/p>\n

Before that, I studied physics and worked in project management and development, among other things. Structured, analytical, with clearly defined processes. That worked well for many years. But over time, something else became increasingly important to me: people, encounters, relationships, and the uniqueness of a moment.<\/p>\n

Since 2013, I’ve been photographing weddings, portraits, and stories of businesses and the people behind them. My aim is to capture what truly matters \u2013 what is already there \u2013 in a natural, authentic way, creating images that move people.<\/p>\n

My approach to photography<\/h2>\n

I work quietly, giving people space.<\/p>\n

I rarely intervene, allowing moments to unfold naturally.<\/p>\n

What interests me isn’t (just) the obvious.<\/p>\n

It’s the moment before, the moment after, and the interactions in between.<\/p>\n

When something is about to happen.<\/p>\n

When a glance, a movement, a subtle shift, or a genuine moment emerges.<\/p>\n

That’s where the images happen.<\/p>\n

It’s not about capturing as much as possible, but about seeing what truly matters \u2013 and, through years of experience, being in the right place at the decisive moment. Calm, attentive, and unobtrusive. As if it were the most natural thing in the world.<\/p>\n

At weddings, this means being present and attentive without drawing attention to myself, stepping in only when it really matters. Often, a natural sense of familiarity develops quite quickly, and I find myself being seen less as a hired photographer and more as part of the celebration \u2013 almost like a friend. That’s when images emerge that feel genuine and personal, truly capturing the atmosphere of the day.<\/p>\n

In a business context, the emphasis shifts. Here, images don’t simply happen by chance. They emerge through clarity, structure, and thoughtful direction. I guide, observe, and shape the process \u2013 as much as necessary, as little as possible. The aim isn’t to stage something that doesn’t exist, but to make visible what truly defines a business: its people, its values, and the quality of its work.<\/p>\n

The result is approachable, authentic imagery \u2013 carefully directed without ever feeling staged. And that’s precisely what builds trust.<\/p>\n

Perhaps it helps that I understand both perspectives: the entrepreneurial mindset and the sensitive, analytical eye of an observer.<\/p>\n

A few things about me<\/h2>\n

I’ve lived in Konstanz since 2002. I’m married to Jenny, and we have three children.<\/p>\n

I’ve been playing the bassoon since I was fourteen and have performed with various orchestras around the world. I love sailing, wild camping, and cooking. Tea is part of my everyday life, while espresso accompanies my ongoing search for balance and variety.<\/p>\n

Alongside photography, I also work as a systemic coach, psychological counsellor, and mediator. Listening, understanding, being present, and recognising the dynamics beneath the surface \u2013 much of this is reflected in my photography, too.<\/p>\n

I’m fascinated by human nature. I seek to understand people and what drives them, and I find great joy in helping bring peace, joy, and freedom into relationships and systems.<\/p>\n

Being a Christian continually challenges me, shapes me, and gives me direction. My wish is to make the depth and potential of what is written in Scripture something that can truly be experienced.<\/p>\n
